A big shout of thanks to Rob and Jill for another fabulous evening sailing boats on the Widrush through Bourton on the Water. As in other years, Kingfisher Elfins and Pioneer Howler Monkeys took over the town centre as they paraded their scrap boats down the river. Although a dark, cold and wet evening, once the lanterns are lit all that is forgotten and our young members pile into the river with their boats and race them to the finish post at Birdland. This year we declared everyone with a boat a winner for making this such a spectical (including those mums and dads who couldn't resist the opportunity to get in the water). A special bravery award was given to all those who filled their boots with water and an extra award went to those who dived in fully clothed. We are still not sure what the townsfolk of Burford make of all this, but we have never had any complaints and lots of people stop to watch the fun. Back to Rob and Jill's for hot chocolate and biscuits to end a perfect evening.
